Direct Access

On August 16, 2018, Governor Rauner signed new direct access legislation into law. Direct access is as simple as it sounds: patients can get direct access to physical therapy & occupational therapy. In short, this means that patients can seek PT & OT without a referral from their physician. The direct access law applies to most commercial insurance plans, however, does not apply to government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, or VA.
